As someone who has been using cameras most of his adult life, I can emphatically state that I prefer being behind the camera lens instead of in front of it. As my skills have grown as a photographer and the need to improve picture quality, I've upgraded my hardware and knowledge along the way. I started with a simple Canon point-and-shoot camera but am now using a prosumer Canon DSLR with multiple prosumer telephoto lenses today.
There are so many stories that can be told in the places we visit, the faces we see, and activities people do everyday. Since a picture is worth a thousand words, I enjoy telling some of those stories - especially those my children are a part of - via the camera lens.
